UPDATE as of 3/30/2020

Packet drop off for last week's packets and pick up for the new packets is Thursday, April 2. THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN DROP OFF/ PICK UP TIMES All Grade levels should drop off old and pick up new packets from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Please enter through the far driveway and exit through the driveway near the front of the school. Please continue to check our website for updates. Thank you for your support and stay well! REMINDER: If you did not turn in your child's Vysehrad Library book last week, please turn it in this Thursday.  Thank you!

UPDATE as of 3-23-2020 Pick-up for Instructional Materials

Vysehrad ISD Staff will be preparing instructional materials for students starting March 23. Instructional material (online and/or via pickup) will be available starting Thursday, March 26. Vysehrad ISD will have packet/ informational pickup for Pre-K thru 4th grades on Thursday from 5:00-5:45 pm and for 5th - 8th grades from 5:45 - 6:30 pm. Please enter through the 3rd driveway as we do for afternoon pickup. We will deliver the materials to your vehicle. Please remain in your vehicle. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration

      Vysehrad Independent School District Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Visitation/Registration for the 2020-2021 school year will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 from 5:00-6:00 pm in conjunction with an ice-cream social. (This will be before the 6pm PTO Meeting. ) After this date, you may call or visit during regular school hours.      PK children who will be three or four years of age and Kindergarten children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2020 are eligible.   Please bring the required documents; child's birth . . .

Read to Succeed

We will be participating in the Read to Succeed program that encourages children in grades K through 6th to read for fun. Read to Succeed is a free program from Six Flags and Discovery Education. Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading before the April 17th deadline will be eligible for a free admission ticket valid at Fiesta Texas, a Six Flags theme park. A parent letter with a sheet to record what and how long your child reads daily was sent home with your child. Please keep in mind: the deadline to enter the form information online is April 17th. School History

Vysehrad, a word which means “High Castle” in the Czechoslovakian language, is the name for the small rural school found in Lavaca County, Texas.  The Vysehrad school, established in 1887, is situated on part of the Francis Smith League, located on County Road 182 about four miles west of Hallettsville, Texas on the old Shiner road and about a mile and half north of Worthing, Texas.  The Vysehrad School has remained in the same location since the school was founded.  The number of students enrolled in the Vysehrad School has fluctuated over the years; some years seeing an enrollment close to 125 students. . . .
