Christmas time is coming............................ This year, our Annual Christmas Play will be "Twas the Night Before Christmas". The first performance will be held December 16, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. for the Senior Citizens. The second performance will be December 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. for the parents/grandparents/family/friends of the students. The PTO will be having a SILENT AUCTION the night of the Christmas Play. The Silent Auction is the only other fundraiser that benefits the PTO (besides the Stew Dinner and Raffle). The Silent Auction adds to the festivities of the Christmas Play evening! . . .
The Vysehrad Annual Stew Dinner and Raffle Drawing will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the St. Mary's Parish Hall. Serving will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with the drawing for prizes at 12:30 p.m. The meal will consist of "St. Mary's" stew, German potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, homemade bread, and dessert. Meal tickets may be purchased for $9.00 per plate at Hoffer's Drive-In, Morton's Drive-In, or from any Vysehrad student. Stew may also be purchased by the pound for $9.00. Container will be provided. . . .

Vysehrad students have been invited to participate in the upcoming 2019 FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS festivities. The Lighted Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 6:15 pm. If you are interested in participating in the parade, entry forms and additional information are available at the Vysehrad School office. Vysehrad, a word which means “High Castle” in the Czechoslovakian language, is the name for the small rural school found in Lavaca County, Texas. The Vysehrad school, established in 1887, is situated on part of the Francis Smith League, located on County Road 182 about four miles west of Hallettsville, Texas on the old Shiner road and about a mile and half north of Worthing, Texas. The Vysehrad School has remained in the same location since the school was founded. The number of students enrolled in the Vysehrad School has fluctuated over the years; some years seeing an enrollment close to 125 students. . . .
