G/T Referral

 Vysehrad ISD will begin accepting nominations for students to participate in the Gifted and Talented (G/T) Program on October 1, 2019. Nominations may be made by parents, teachers and any other individual who believes a student exhibits potential to be considered for admission to the program. Nomination forms may be obtained from the school office or this website. The nomination period lasts throughout the month of October.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is a national drug prevention campaign that is celebrated by schools all across America! Vysehrad will be  participating the week of October 28th-November 1, 2019. We are encouraging students to make healthy choices. Vysehrad will be having a Red Ribbon Spirit Week to reinforce the message of staying drug free!  Each child will receive a red drug free bracelet or ribbon to wear to school each day. School History

Vysehrad, a word which means “High Castle” in the Czechoslovakian language, is the name for the small rural school found in Lavaca County, Texas.  The Vysehrad school, established in 1887, is situated on part of the Francis Smith League, located on County Road 182 about four miles west of Hallettsville, Texas on the old Shiner road and about a mile and half north of Worthing, Texas.  The Vysehrad School has remained in the same location since the school was founded.  The number of students enrolled in the Vysehrad School has fluctuated over the years; some years seeing an enrollment close to 125 students. . . .
