Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration

      Vysehrad Independent School District Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Visitation for the 2018-2019 school year will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 pm. ( After this date, you may call or visit during regular school hours.)     If you are interested in sending your child to Vysehrad come join us for an Ice-Cream Social , visit with the teacher, and give your child the opportunity to become familiar with the school.    PK children who will be four years of age and Kindergarten children who will be five years of age on or before . . .

School History

Vysehrad, a word which means “High Castle” in the Czechoslovakian language is the name for the small rural school found in Lavaca County, Texas.  The Vysehrad school, established in 1887, is situated on part of the Francis Smith League, located on County Road 182 about four miles west of Hallettsville, Texas on the old Shiner road and about a mile and half north of Worthing, Texas.  The Vysehrad School has remained in the same location since the school was founded.  The number of students enrolled in the Vysehrad School has fluctuated over the years; some years seeing an enrollment close to 100 students. . . .
